<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to perform different communication modes by means of a single electric field communication device. <P>SOLUTION: An electric field communication device comprises: an antenna part for inducing an electric field to a contacted electric field transmission medium to transmit and receive information in the form of an electric field signal using the electric field; a waveform detection unit for detecting the waveform of an electric field signal received via the antenna part; a determination unit for identifying a type of electric field communication mode based on the detection result of the waveform detection unit; and a modulation/demodulation unit for demodulating the received electric field signal based on the electric field communication mode identified by the determination unit, and also modulating information to be transmitted via the antenna part to an electric field signal of the identified electric field communication mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
