<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling luminescence of marine luminous bacteria which enhances luminosity of the marine luminous bacteria cells themselves by adjusting components included therein, and a sensor for environmental measurement using the marine luminous bacteria. <P>SOLUTION: The method maintains the luminosity of the marine luminous bacteria irrespective of their cell concentration and uses (1) a sulfur source comprising 0.0046-4.6 g/L sulfur or a water-soluble sulfur compound in terms of [S], and (2) a potassium source comprising 0.00403-4.03 g/L water-soluble potassium compound in terms of [K], or (3) a carbonate source comprising 0.079-3.93 g/L water-soluble carbonate compound in terms of [CO<SB POS="POST">3</SB>] and, if needed, further (4) a magnesium source comprising 0.092-9.2 g/L water-soluble magnesium compound in terms of [Mg], in a sodium chloride-containing medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
