<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric element having an n-type organic layer as an electrode for hole injection or hole extraction. <P>SOLUTION: The electric element includes a first electrode for injecting or extracting holes provided with a conductive layer and an n-type organic layer placed thereon, a second electrode for injecting or extracting electrons, and a p-type organic layer interposed between the conductive layer and the second electrode. The p-type organic layer forms an NP junction between the n-type organic layer and the p-type organic layer. Energy difference between the LUMO energy level of the n-type organic layer and the Fermi energy level of the conductive layer is about 2 eV or lower, and energy difference between the LUMO energy level of the n-type organic layer and the HOMO energy level of the p-type organic layer is about 1 eV or lower. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
