<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biometric authentication system and biometric authentication method in which a 1:1 authentication process and a 1:N authentication process are efficiently combined and used together in the biometric authentication system in which users are divided into the case of executing the 1:1 authentication process and the case of executing the 1:N authentication process in accordance with the quality of biological information. <P>SOLUTION: An authentication system is provided which confirms the identity of a user on the basis of biological information presented from the user. In the case where the user inputs identification information to the authentication system and then presents biological information, the authentication system implements a 1:1 authentication process and in the case where the user presents the biological information without inputting the identification information to the authentication system, the authentication system implements a 1:N authentication process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
