<p>The present invention provides a gas generator (10) for a restraining apparatus including a housing (13), an inner tube member (17) within thehousing, an ignition device (16) on a bottom portion (12a) of the housing within the inner tube member, a solid gas generating agent (28) in a combustion chamber (26), and an adsorbent (36) separated from the solid gas generating agent and stored in a cup-shaped container (40), the cup-shaped container being provided such that a gap is formed between an opening portion of the cup-shaped container and a ceiling portion of the housing or a member in the housing, and a bottom portion side (40b) of the cup-shaped container being inserted such that at least a part of an outer circumferential wall surface (41) of the cup-shaped container directly opposes an inner circumferential wall surface (18) of the inner tube member, wherein at activation, the cup-shaped container being moved by an impact and abutting against the ceiling portion of the housing or the member to close the opening portion.</p> |
