<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing ceramics which can elute an additive element in water and inhibit vanishing of the additive element in a short period of time. <P>SOLUTION: In the method of producing ceramics for a hot water holding apparatus, a mixture containing at least one silicon material powder selected from among silicon oxide and silicon-containing oxide and at least one additive element selected from among alkaline earth metals, alkali metals, vanadium, zinc, selenium, phosphorus, sulfur, chlorine, iron, boron, fluorine, aluminum, silicon, chromium, manganese, cobalt, nickel, copper, arsenic, molybdenum, iodine and carbon is fired and cooled in an atmosphere where the additive element is contained in the nonoxide state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
