PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a silicon carbide heating element and a honeycomb each having resistance value characteristics excellent in a wide temperature range from a low temperature to a high temperature.

SOLUTION: The manufacturing method includes: a step of mixing silicon carbide, silicon, carbon and an aluminum material, and a step of firing the resulting mixture. Excellent resistance value characteristics can be obtained by controlling the percentage of the aluminum material and firing conditions.
