<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a compensation error of the whole system using a dispersion compensation device with a different dispersion compensation error. <P>SOLUTION: A combination of a plurality of dispersion compensation devices each having a different compensation error are disposed so that the dispersion compensation error wholly decreases.
