<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always apply a parking brake with a predetermined hydraulic pressure without being affected by a hydraulic pressure produced by the operation of a brake pedal. <P>SOLUTION: This disk brake device includes a disk brake 1 having a parking brake mechanism which is operated by an electric motor 10 as a drive source to hold a piston, which has been moved forward by a hydraulic pressure supplied from a hydraulic control unit 2 into a caliper 14, mechanically at a braking position even after the hydraulic pressure is released; and a control means 6 for supplying a predetermined amount of hydraulic pressure from the hydraulic control unit 2 to the caliper 14, based on a parking-brake indication signal from a parking brake switch 8 and for operating the parking brake mechanism. When the brake pedal 4 is operated when the parking-brake indication signal is input, the parking brake mechanism is operated while a hydraulic pressure in the caliper 14 is at a predetermined pressure, after the operation of the brake pedal 4 is finished, to prevent a hydraulic pressure required for releasing the parking brake from being carelessly raised. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
