<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit for automatic level adjustment of an audio signal which can automatically adjust the level of an input audio signal into a predetermined range while suppressing noise generation. <P>SOLUTION: When the level of an input audio signal is higher than a first reference value corresponding to a maximum value of a predetermined range, the amplitude of the input audio signal is reduced, and when the level of the input audio signal is lower than a second reference value lower than the first reference value, the amplitude of the input audio signal is increased.
