<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a thin polymer film in which thickness unevenness is suppressed and optical characteristics are stable. <P>SOLUTION: A casting die 51 includes a block-shaped casting die body having a slot 69 penetrating through in Z-direction. In the slot 69, a before width-widening slot part 76, a first width-widening slot part 77, a second width-widening slot part 78 and an after width-widening slot part 79 are formed in this order from an inlet 69i to an outlet 69o. Inner deckle plates 80 are installed at both ends in the slot 69 in X-direction over the ranges from the first width-widening slot 77 in the slot 69 to the outlet 69o, respectively. A liquid-contacting surface 81 of each of the inner deckle plates 80 is formed of a first liquid-contacting surface 81a and a second liquid-contacting surface 81b. The first liquid-contacting surface 81a is formed orthogonal to X-direction, and extends from the first width-widening slot 77 to a midway position of the after width-widening slot 79.
