The invention relates to a tire for a heavy vehicle, having a tread (10) provided, on one side of the equatorial median plane, with a first type of pattern (1), and on the other side of the median equatorial plane, with a second type of pattern (2), the first type of pattern including at least three generally circumferentially oriented grooves (11, 12, 13), said grooves delimiting at least two generally circumferentially oriented ribs (111, 112, 113), said ribs being provided with a plurality of transversely or substantially transversely oriented incisions (3), the second type of pattern including at least two generally circumferentially oriented grooves (21, 22) and a plurality of generally transversely orientated grooves (24, 25), said grooves delimiting a plurality of blocks (211, 212), wherein on each type of pattern a surface recess ratio, said tread being characterized in that the surface recess ratio of the first type of pattern is equal to the recess ratio of the second type of pattern. The invention also relates to arrangements of two tires on a steering axle of a heavy vehicle, and to an arrangement of four tires on a drive axle of a heavy vehicle. |
