<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector enabling fitting connection of connector housings by a weak insertion force equal to that required for a lever connector or weaker, and suitable for downsizing without increasing the number of components and assembly steps. <P>SOLUTION: One connector housing 10 comprises a projection 14 with the front end which projects toward the rear beyond the rear end of the other connector housing 20 when positioned at a start position to be fitted with the other connector housing 20, and a rod-supporting hole 15 formed at a front end 14a of the projection 14 enabling the end of a separate rodlike member to be inserted. The other connector housing 20 comprises a protuberance 23 facing the front end 14a of the projection 14, and a tilt 24 with which an outer side face of the intermediate portion of the rodlike member with the end inserted into the rod-supporting hole 15 can come into contact.
