<p>Provided is a nuclear reactor comprising a reactor core which includes a fresh-fuel part and a combustion part in which neutrons are generated and fuel is burned, wherein the combustion part moves in the direction toward the fresh-fuel part over the period from the beginning to the ending of a combustion cycle. A plurality of fuel assemblies in the reactor core include a fuel assembly which is fixed in the reactor core and a fuel assembly which can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the fuel assemblies. The operation of the nuclear reactor is stopped by taking the fuel assemblies out of the reactor core, and is started by reinserting the fuel assemblies into the reactor core.</p> |
