<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibrator of a vibration type drive device which reduces the cost and the size with a plate like structure, suppresses vibration damping to improve vibration efficiency in spite of the reduced size, and enables stable large output generation. <P>SOLUTION: A vibrator of a vibration type drive device includes a plate like elastic body joined to a piezoelectric element having a piezoelectric layer and an electrode layer. The vibrator of the vibration type drive device allows the elastic body to generate vibrations by applying a drive voltage to the piezoelectric element and drives a driven body contacting with the elastic body through the vibrations. The one or multiple piezoelectric elements are provided at front and rear surfaces of the plate like elastic body, and at least the two different type vibrations are generated by applying the drive voltage to the piezoelectric element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
