<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for limiting slit clogging, with which ground particles do not clog the opening and which is capable of maintaining ground particle recovery rates. <P>SOLUTION: The device for limiting slit clogging is used in a rotating drum-type magnetic separator that is provided with a rotating drum 3 in which multiple magnets 4 are disposed and that separates unwanted materials in post-treatment coolant liquid. A slit-shaped opening 8 is provided below the rotating drum 3 and below the opening 8, the device has a cylindrical groove and cam mechanism configured from a rotatable cylindrical shaft 21 having a groove and a slit-cleaning part 22 that engages with the groove.
