<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a length measuring technology of a cast piece 5 which can further accurately measure the length of the cast piece. <P>SOLUTION: This cast piece length measurement device of continuous casting equipment comprises: a drive roll which pulls out the cast piece 5; a cutter which cuts the cast piece 5 while moving in synchronization with the cast piece 5 during the transportation of the pulled-out cast piece 5; a measuring roll 23 which rotates accompanied by the movement of the cast piece 5; a first pulse generator 24 which detects a rotation amount of the measuring roll 23; and a second pulse generator 26 which detects a rotation amount of the drive roll. An output of one of the first pulse generator 24 and the second pulse generator 26 is selected, and the length of the cast piece 5 is measured on the basis of a detection value of the selected pulse generator. A moving amount of the cutter is measured during the movement of the cutter in synchronization with the cast piece 5, and the length measured by the detection value of the selected pulse generator is corrected on the basis of: the measured value; and the moving amount of the cast piece 5, obtained based on the detection value detected by the selected pulse generator from the start of the measurement to the finish of the measurement. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
