<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely feed a clearance filler made of a pelletized bentonite-based material in the whole of clearance formed in a burial site for high-level radioactive waste (such as an underground gallery, a disposal pit, etc.) and fill the clearance without being affected by ground water even in the case that the ground water seeps from bedrock into the underground gallery or the disposal pit. <P>SOLUTION: In a method for filling of a clearance filler in a burial site for radioactive waste, an inner surface of clearance S is dried or freezed before filling the clearance S with a clearance filler 2.
