<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic ice making machine capable of reliably detecting the movement of a water tray even if an abnormal situation such as ice catching occurs. <P>SOLUTION: At ice making operation in which the water tray 18 is at a closed position, a pressing part 58 is pressed around a peripheral surface of a rotary shaft 36 so that a press button 60 is turned on. At ice removing operation in which the water tray 18 is tilted to be at an open position, press-push against the pressing part 58 is canceled by the pressing part 58 inserted in a notch 39 of the rotated rotary shaft 36 so that the press button 60 is turned off.
