<p>Square or oblong rectangular areas are formed as blocks on a medium surface such as a printed matter, longitudinal and lateral lines constituting the frames of these blocks are set as reference lattice lines, virtual reference lattice points are provided on the reference lattice lines at specified intervals, the virtual reference lattice points are connected together and lines parallel to the reference lattice lines are set as lattice lines, the intersections between the lattice lines are set as virtual lattice points, a dot patter is generated in which dots each having a distance and a direction with reference to this virtual lattice point are respectively disposed, such a dot pattern is read by an optical reading means as image information, the dot pattern is digitized, and information corresponding to the digitized information is read from a storing means and is output.</p> |
