<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side emission type light emitting device. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting device 100 includes: a substrate 110 having lead frames 114; a light emitting element 120 mounted on the substrate 110; a mold member 130 formed on the substrate 110 and the light emitting element 120; and a reflection member 140. The mold member 130 is formed so that the upper side is inclined in a direction of an opening on one side, and the reflection member 140 is formed on the mold member 130.
