<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve safe water boiling free from boiling over by making it possible to electrically detect mounted condition of a lid part or the like of an electric kettle. <P>SOLUTION: The electric kettle includes: a container body 1A having a liquid container 3 for liquid to put in; a detachable lid body 2 for covering the opening of the container body 1A; and heating means such as a water boiling heater 4 for heating the liquid container 3. The electric kettle further includes lid mounting condition detecting means for electrically detecting the mounted condition of the lid body 2 on the opening of the container body 1A. It is therefore possible to automatically detect not only presence/absence of the mounted lid body but also propriety of the mounted condition. When the lid body is not properly mounted, warning means like a buzzer is activated, reporting the user or inhibiting power supply to the heating means such as the water boiling heater 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
