A programmable integrated circuit for imagery data content analysis, the integrated circuit comprising: a programmable detection rule storage unit configured to store a set of detection rules; a communication interface enabling programming of said detection rule storage unit using an external device; and a content analyzer having circuitry for detecting, based on the set of detection rules, a pattern in imagery data, and for outputting a size-reduced version of the imagery data.
