<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle which can suppress the generation of an odor in blown air blown into a cabin while suppressing an increase of energy consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The air conditioner includes a case 1 forming an air passage for blown air blown into the cabin, an evaporator 9 which is placed in the case 1 and cools the blown air, a compressor 11 which adjusts a cooling temperature Te of the blown air cooled by the evaporator 9, a dew point meter 36 which detects a dew point temperature Tdew of an airflow flowing into the evaporator 9, a target temperature setting means S9 which determines a target cooling temperature TEO which is a target value for the evaporator 9, to be a first target temperature lower than the dew point temperature Tdew of the airflow flowing into the evaporator 9 by a given temperature, and a cooling temperature control means 30a which controls the compressor 11 so that the cooling temperature Te may approach the target cooling temperature TEO.
