<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer receiver sheet, which is improved in various performance features such as adhesiveness of each layer of the thermal transfer receiver sheet, releasability in printing, moisture resistance and heat resistance of printed matter, and image density of printed matter, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal transfer receiver sheet includes a base material, and a heat-insulating layer and a receiver layer which are provided on the base material in this order. The heat-insulating layer contains hollow particles, and the receiver layer contains a binder resin and a silicone releasing agent, and is substantially free from gelatin. The silicone releasing agent includes epoxy-modified silicone having viscosity of 100-10,000 mm<SP POS="POST">2</SP>/s and epoxy equivalent of 50-2,000. In this thermal transfer receiver sheet, various performances such as adhesiveness of each layer of the thermal transfer receiver sheet, releasability in printing, moisture resistance and heat resistance of printed matter and image density of printed matter can be improved.
