<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst support which can reduce the amount of rhodium to be used and which can effectively develop gas cleaning performance, and to provide a catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst support is formed of a non-stoichiometric spinel compound oxide shown by general formula (1): MgO.xAl<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">3</SB>(wherein 1<x≤9). The rhodium is supported on the formed catalyst support to obtain the catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas. Since the catalyst support comprises the non-stoichiometric spinel compound oxide shown by general formula (1), the catalyst carrier can effectively develop the gas cleaning performance even when the amount of the rhodium to be used is reduced. Further, since the catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas contains a catalyst composition including the catalyst support and the rhodium supported on the catalyst support, the amount of the rhodium to be used is reduced and the gas cleaning performance can be effectively developed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
