<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head including a lower part wherein a thickness distribution is controlled, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: A thickness of a front central area A along a face part out of the sole face of this golf club head 1 made of a titanium alloy is about 1.3 mm. A thickness of a central area B of a sole main face part 26 continuing from the area A is 0.65-0.7 mm. A thickness of an area D is about 1.3 mm. A thickness of an area E from a back part to side parts on the toe side and the heel side is 0.65-0.7 mm. A thickness of an area C between the areas A, B and the areas E, D is about 0.9 mm.
