<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater that achieves energy-saving without consuming wasteful power by switching the power of a voice output unit only when a voice guidance is required, while maintaining usability. <P>SOLUTION: The water heater includes a bath remote controller 3 having a human detector 8 for detecting presence of humans; the voice output unit 10; a speaker 11, and a power switching unit 7 for turning on and off the power of the voice output unit 10. When the human detector 8 detects humans, the voice guidance is performed by turning on the power of the voice output unit 10 by the power switching unit 7.
