TRAFFIC SIGNAL CONTROL DEVICE AND TRAFFIC SIGNAL CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic signal control device and a traffic signal control method that provide an effective time difference indication.

SOLUTION: A traffic information acquisition part 12 acquires traffic information on each intersection right-turning direction of an opposite entering path in an intersection. A right-turning vehicle determination part 13 determines whether there are many vehicles waiting to turn right to each right turning direction based upon the traffic information on each intersection right-turning direction. A time difference indication determination part 16 determines whether to make a time difference indication based upon the traffic information on each right-turning direction acquired by the traffic information acquisition part 12. For example, it is determined that the time difference indication is made when the number or queuing length of vehicles to turn right from one direction of entering paths opposed to each other in the intersection is larger or longer than the number or queuing length of vehicles to turn right from the opposite direction.
