Aqueous pigment preparation comprises: (a) 1-75 wt.% of an inorganic white or colored pigment or a mixture of different inorganic white or colored pigments; (b) 0.01-20 wt.% of at least one polyglycol ether carboxylate (I), (c) 0.01-20 wt.% of a nonionic, anionic or amphoteric wetting and dispersing additive comprising surface-active compounds for reducing the surface tension of water to below 45 mN/m in a 0.5% aqueous solution, and (d) water. Aqueous pigment preparation comprises: (a) 1-75 wt.% of an inorganic white or colored pigment or a mixture of different inorganic white or colored pigments; (b) 0.01-20 wt.% of at least one polyglycol ether carboxylate of formula (A-O-(CH(R1)-CH 2-O) n-CH 2-C(=O)-OM) (I), (c) 0.01-20 wt.% of a nonionic, anionic or amphoteric wetting and dispersing additive comprising surface-active compounds for reducing the surface tension of water to below 45 mN/m in a 0.5% aqueous solution, and (d) water.
