<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system and a control method and a program therefor which can provide appropriate screens when a plurality of pieces of authentication are required. <P>SOLUTION: When a Web application is being executed, an authentication system determines whether authentication is performed with an authentication device or not, and when determining that authentication is performed, displays a screen with a button for logging out from the authentication device, and when determining that authentication is not performed, displays an authentication screen for the Web application.
