<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally expandable microcapsule which achieves a high foaming magnification, is excellent in dispersibility to a matrix resin and gains a high frosting effect to enable the production of a foamed sheet or the like, the external appearance of whose surface is good; and to provide a resin composition and a foamed sheet which each uses the thermally expandable microcapsule. <P>SOLUTION: The thermally expandable microcapsule includes a volatile inflating agent, as a core agent, in a shell comprising a polymer. In this case, its volume-average particle size is 10-35 μm, and the cumulative frequency of the thermally expandable microcapsules and the aggregate thereof having a volume-average particle size of 60 μm or larger is at most 0.1%, and the shell comprises a polymer which is obtained by polymerizing a monomer composition which contains a nitrile-based monomer (I) which contains 60-80 wt.% of acrylonitrile. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
