High contrast ink jet printing paper

Paper in sheet or roll form comprises a carrier paper that is provided with a coating application exhibiting a pigment and a binder, comprising fibers and mineral fillers. The paper exhibits a color intensity of greater than 100000 and a degree of whiteness of 60-80% according to ISO. The fibers of the carrier paper comprise secondary fibers (upto at least 50%). The coating application is applied to one or both sides of the carrier paper in an amount of not > 8 g/m 2>per side.
