PURPOSE: An ocean floor survey system for updating waterway information is provided to allow first and second ocean floor detection devices to accurately measure a distance by preventing fishes from entering an underwater detector. CONSTITUTION: An ocean floor survey system for updating waterway information comprises an underwater detector(200). The underwater detector comprises a controller(270). The controller controls the operation of first and second sound wave generators(223,235), first and second ocean floor detection devices(240,250), and a buoyancy control device(260). The controller compares the measurement distances from the first and second ocean floor detection devices with each other. When the distance difference is over a reference value, the controller selects the longer measurement distance and generates ocean topography data.
