The hob device comprises shielding elements (10a,12a) and cover unit (18a). The cover unit is held in shielding element in cooking operation state, such that the shield element is partially surrounded by cover unit. The latching elements (22a,24a) are provided through which the shielding elements are held on hob plate (20a) in cooking operation state.
