<p>The subject of the invention is a method for obtaining particles of chemical formula BiVO4 wherein bismuth and vanadium precursors and at least one additive chosen from surfactants of the sulphate or phosphonate type comprising at least one hydrocarbon chain are made to react at a temperature below 50° C. The subject of the invention is also particles of chemical formula BiVO4 of which the surface has Brønsted sites.</p>
