For registering printing plates on cylinders particularly in multi-colour machines, scales 11 are adjustably mounted in circumferential grooves adjacent to the ends of cylinder, and scales 14 are mounted on the clamps 8 by means of which a plate is stretched around the cylinder, the scales being used in conjunction with extended lines 4, 4<SP>1</SP> of the locating crosses 3 on the plate to position the plate correctly on the cylinder. Each scale 11 can be adjusted by means of an adjusting nut 12<SP>1</SP> and a screwthreaded pin 12 passing through a bolt head 13 fixed to the cylinder. Each scale 14 is secured to its clamp by a bolt-and-slot connection 16, 17 so as to permit of relative axial adjustment. Endwise adjustment of a clamp may be effected by a screws 9. Adjustably attached to the ends of each scale 14 are members 19 carrying rollers 15 guided on the end walls of the cylinder, this arrangement permitting of circumferential adjustments being made without affecting the axial adjustment. |
