FORWARD OSMOSIS MEMBRANE FOR REMOVING SALT FROM SEA WATER AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THREROF

PURPOSE: A forward osmosis membrane for desalination and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to secure superior water permeation, contamination resistance characteristic, and chemical resistance characteristic. CONSTITUTION: A forward osmosis membrane for desalination is composed of a non-woven fabric layer, a hydrophobic polymer layer, and a polyamide layer. The porosity of the hydrophobic polymer layer is in a range between 30 and 80%. The forward osmosis membrane satisfies 9.0us/cm per minute or less of the salt reverse diffusion. A method for manufacturing the forward osmosis membrane includes the following: the hydrophobic polymer containing solution is applied and casted on a support; the casted product is immersed in a coagulating bath containing water and 0.01 to 30% of a solvent to form a hydrophobic polymer layer; and the polyamide layer is formed on the surface of the hydrophobic polymer layer by the interfacial polymerization of a multifunctional amine-containing aqueous solution and a multifunctional acid-halogenated compound containing organic solution.
