PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for performing lost mode of a communication terminal are provided to easily restore a communication terminal to a terminal even though the communication terminal is lost. CONSTITUTION: A determining unit(181) receives a communication message through a wireless communication unit. The communication message includes a lost alarm character string. The determining unit sets up a lost mode. A performing unit(183) is connected to a social network server through the wireless communication unit. The performing unit transmits a lost alarm message to the social network server. The lost alerting message includes current locatoin information.
