<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a countermeasure of stains on a base and to keep appropriate charging property and mechanical scraping force when single component contact development is carried out with a polyester resin toner produced by a polymerization method. <P>SOLUTION: A single component image forming apparatus is characterized in that: a ratio θ of the circumferential speed of a developer bearer to the circumferential speed of an electrostatic charge image bearer in the developing device satisfies 1.0≤θ≤1.2; an indentation amount P is in a range of 0≤P<0.2 mm, wherein the indentation amount P is 0 when a toner on a developer bearer is in contact with an electrostatic charge image bearer; the developing device includes at least a developing unit; and the developing unit houses a toner satisfying a relationship of 3.0≤(TD1-TD2)/A≤6.0, wherein A (mg/cm<SP>2</SP>) represents the deposition amount of the toner, TD1 represents a transmission density of the toner, and TD2 represents the transmission density of a recording medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
