<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can efficiently change program, in a short time, without unpacking the image forming apparatus, even if the image forming apparatus is packed, and to provide a packing member for packing the image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus and the packing member for the image forming apparatus, the packing member is provided with openings at positions corresponding to members required to change program and set information for the image forming apparatus. Consequently, program and set information can be changed, without unpacking the packed image forming apparatus.
