发明名称 Improvements in or relating to methods of treating molten metal
摘要
908,348. Treating molten metals. FISCHER A.G., GEORG. March 31, 1959 [March 28, 1958], No. 10854/59. Classes 72 and 82 (1). Molten metal is treated by pouring it from an upper ladle 1 into an air-tight chamber 3 where a jet 8 of gas or vapour is directed into the metal stream at approximately its point of entry to the chamber to penetrate and divide the stream. Excess gas is vented to atmosphere through radial slots 14, filter material 15 and orifice 14. The treatment degasses the metal if an inert gas is used or adds nitrogen, oxygen or carbon to the metal if a gas such as nitrogen, oxygen, air, steam, carbon monoxide or methane is used. Vapour, e.g. water or metal vapour, may be used for the jet instead of gas. Powdered substances which vaporize on penetration into the melt, e.g. Ca, Mg or alloys thereof may be added to the jet.
