912,149. Rotary drum filters. STOCKDALE ENGINEERING Ltd. May 15, 1961 [May 14, 1960], No. 17105/60. Class 46. [Also in Group XXVIII]. Pre-filt is fed through a rotary valve B and through one of the pipes b<SP>2</SP> into one of the chambers a<SP>1</SP>; filtrate passes out from the appropriate one of the chambers a through one of the pipes b<SP>1</SP> and through the same valve B. By rotation of the drum and valve the chambers a, a<SP>1</SP> are connected with other valve ports providing means for washing the residue. Further rotation connects the filtrate chambers a to a source of back-flushing fluid, which is subsequently despatched with the residues through the valve B. The ports a<SP>2</SP>, a<SP>3</SP>, Fig. 2, in the valve may be arranged so that filtering and washing are proceeding simultaneously, and in more than one pair of chambers in each case. Filtrate from one chamber a may be passed through the valve to an adjacent prefilt chamber a<SP>1</SP>. The cylindrical filter medium C is perforate plate or cloth. |
