A clamp element for a vehicle battery comprises a member 17 with a loop 19 at each end to receive holding down bolts and cross members 21 secured near each end of the member 17 and adapted to engage the top of the battery. As shown the cross members 21 are welded to the underside of the member 17 and each is arched so that only the top corners of the battery are engaged. Each is provided with a section at each end which engages the vertical corner of the battery. |
