FIELD: mining. ^ SUBSTANCE: method includes installation of gas discharge pipes along general shaft ventilation lines and suction of methane from an insulated grinding chamber. Large coal blocks are ground in a grinding chamber upon their delivery there from lava. When coal blocks are damaged, the main quantity of methane contained in them is released and accumulated in a gas-accumulating cavity of a grinding chamber. From this cavity methane is sucked along a gas discharge pipeline to the surface for recycling.
