The invention relates to an isolated antibody which binds human hepcidin-25 with high affinity, a polynucleotide encoding thereof, vector, host cell, process for the preparation of the antibody. The invention further relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising the antibody, to use of the antibody for of treating anemia, to a method for increasing serum iron levels and to an immunoassay kit.
