PURPOSE: A method for fabricating polyethylene terephthalate multifilaments for a belt or rope is provided to ensure abrasion resistance and to be applied to a belt or rope. CONSTITUTION: A method for fabricating polyethylene terephthalate multifilaments for a belt or rope comprises a step of spinning a polyethylene terephthalate chip with inherent viscosity of 0.8-1.3. The strength of the polyethylene terephthalate multifilaments is 9.5 g/d. A product for a belt or rope is manufactured using the polyethylene terephthalate multifilaments. The polyethylene terephthalate contains ethylene glycol and terephthalene dicarboxylic acid or derivative thereof and a small amount of unit induced from one or more ester-forming ingredients.
