Apparatus for supplying sample liquids and reagents for analysis and other purposes

An apparatus for supplying a plurality of liquids simultaneously to a fluid processing system, comprises means having provision for holding a plurality of individual portions of each of said liquids, a liquid take-off device having means for simultaneously withdrawing each of said liquids from said holding means, and means for moving said take-off device into and out of said portions of each of said liquids for the withdrawal of said plurality of liquids. The apparatus described consists of a rotary member 12 provided with a circular inner row of apertures 14 and a concentric outer row of apertures 16 (see Figs. 1 and 4) for separately holding the reagent and samples, which moves p intermittently past a withdrawal station where pivoted withdrawal tubes 28 and 30 are arranged to dip into and withdraw each of an aligned pair of sample and reagent. As best seen in Fig. 4, each of the apertures holds an open top container 18. Alternate containers of the inner row of containers 22 contain a processing reagent and the containers between each of the reagents may contain a wash liquid. Alternate containers of the outer row of containers 24 contain the samples being treated and the containers between said samples may also contain a wash liquid.
