PURPOSE: A hand color extracting method for an image recognition based interface, a device thereof, and an image recognition based interface device using the device are provided to analyze consecutive motions of a hand in an image, thereby automatically setting a hand color range applied to the image recognition based interface. CONSTITUTION: An afterimage generating unit(110) accumulates frames according to a consecutive motion of a hand. The afterimage generating unit generates an afterimage. A motion area detecting unit(120) detects an image using the generated afterimage. Motions are dense in the afterimage. A color extracting unit(140) extracts a color of the detected area.
