PURPOSE: A powertrain of an electric vehicle is provided to improve ride quality by preventing the impact transferring during gear shifting through comprising a blocking clutch between a motor and an input shaft. CONSTITUTION: A powertrain of an electric vehicle comprises a motor(10), an input shaft(20), an output shaft(30), a driving gear(40), a driven gear(50), and a transmission clutch(60). The input shaft is rotated by a motor. The output shaft transmits driving power to vehicle wheels. The driving gear is coupled with the input shaft. The driven gear is coupled with the output shaft and meshed with the driving gear. The transmission clutch is coupled with the driving gear.
